Dammit! Cliffhanger.
Set during the Victorian Era, Robert Mansfield, brother of Jack Mansfield goes missing after conducting an investigation on a case that the police suspect Jack of being the murderer. But Jack has other things to worry about like the possible endangerment of the entire human species because of some blood thirsty-vampires that are stealing all their life-force.
I am very uncertain about how I should rate this book. Turns out, I never knew any "Jack the Ripper" and found myself being thoroughly confused. I found out in the end who Jack was after doing some research on Wikipedia but I still don't understand what really happened.
Was Vampiress, Dr. Jack or Jack the Ripper, the murderer of all these people...or was it none of them? Because I honestly thought that Vampiress was the one that killed all those people but then the ending wouldn't make any sense. Was Dr. Jack and Jack the Ripper the same person all along?... or did his soul just get fusioned into the one of a murderer that got transported back to the time of the Roman Empire? What does this Atlas thing have to do with the whole story?
Probably something between a 2 and a 3 stars
