That was probably the worst ending that I've ever read in my life.
There was absolutely no finality to the story and I kept wondering if some pages were missing to the book, but nope, it was actually the author's decision to end it in the middle of no where.
Before I bought this book, I read a couple of review and said that it was extremely dark...
THEY LIED.
Well, not really, but it wasn't THAT dark to me. I mean human trafficking, rape and Stockholm syndrome are realities in the world... It's sad to say it, but the fact remains that this story probably happenned in real life. Who knows?
What I didn't like about his book was how Caleb "loves" Livvie but doesn't really show it. I would say that he was borderline bipolar. He's happy and sweet one second and then beating her the next... Dude. Do you really love her? If you do, then why the fck are to trying to sell her to a bunch of perverts on the other end of the world.
Reading the second book now. I swear, if he sells her and lives a happy life, I'm going to mentally slap him.
Also, what makes her so different from all the other slaves? Please don't tell me it's because she's pretty and stubborn because those are not exactly the best reasons to love someone.
It's very intense though. If you like those type of books, then go ahead.
